About Me

image

I learn, I design, I evaluate, and I do it again.

I am originally from Hong Kong. In 2018, I completed my Master’s in the Birmingham, UK and began my career in Berlin. From there came experience to work with companies like Lufthansa, Siemens, and Charité.

I relocated back in England in spring 2020 to work as a freelance product designer and as a associate mentor at Birmingham City University.

Now, I lead design strategy and execution at MySense as a senior product designer. Focusing on business growth and scalability on our Saas and B2C product.

Beside work, I enjoy spending time on cooking and photography. You’ll often find me at the corner, snapping photos with a bunch of leeks under my arm — haha.

Design Process – I have been crafting this design process since the very beginning of my journey as a designer, continuously refining it through learning, experimentation, and collaboration with experts.
# Design Process
---

Design process ensures optimal products performance through an ongoing
cycle of **understanding, experimentation and evaluation**.

---
Start by asking **Why?** instead of ~~What?~~ to design.
Asking questions fosters critical thinking and knowledge learning,
it helps us to frame design directions.

---
We design for **user needs**, not for ourself. A deeper understanding
of users problems and needs leads us to identify new opportunities.
Those insights inform our design principles so we can better
develop the product's functionality.

---
Judging design based on **How You Think** or **How I Feel** is
challenging because subjective thoughts and feelings often do **NOT**
contribute effectively to the process. Instead, establishing
criteria to measure product performance form an objective assessment
of whether the design meets its predefined goals.

---
**Keep Testing.** Acknowledging that we aren't the end users.
Qualitative testing helps us minimise potential errors and refine
product KPIs. User feedback guides our evaluation of product
usability and functionality, enabling us to make more informed and
impactful design decisions.

---
We learn and we **make things better.** Design is a continuous process,
which dedicated to developing better solutions over time progressively,
with no fixed endpoint...
